Switzerland’s startup ecosystem continues to demonstrate remarkable depth, technical expertise, and global ambition.
The Top 100 Swiss Startup Ranking 2026, organised by Venturelab, identifies the 100 most promising young startups in Switzerland. The ranking is determined by a jury of 100 leading investors and startup experts, making it an important indicator of where Swiss innovation is heading.

1. Corintis Retains the Top Position
For the second consecutive year, Corintis SA takes first place.
The Lausanne-based engineering company develops advanced cooling technology for high-performance computing — an increasingly important challenge as AI and computing demand continue to grow.
At #2 is DeepJudge AG, the Zurich-based AI company developing technology for legal professionals.
PAVE Space SA makes an impressive debut at #3. Based in Villeneuve, Vaud, the company is developing space mobility technologies designed to move satellites and payloads between different orbits.
2. The 2026 Top 10
The leading companies in this year’s ranking are:

The composition of this Top 10 is perhaps more interesting than the individual rankings. Rather than being dominated by conventional software businesses, the leading companies are heavily concentrated in engineering, robotics, space, energy, and advanced technology.
3. Deep Tech Is at the Centre
The 2026 ranking reinforces Switzerland’s position as a particularly strong environment for deep-tech entrepreneurship.
Across the Top100, startups are working on semiconductor cooling, artificial intelligence, robotics, advanced batteries, sustainable materials, medical technologies, biotechnology, renewable energy, quantum technologies, and space systems.
These are highly technical businesses, often built on years of scientific research and specialised engineering.
Robotics is particularly prominent. Flexion Robotics (#6), mimic robotics (#9), Tethys Robotics (#10), RoBoa (#15), NanoFlex Robotics (#16), Flink Robotics (#18), Ascento (#19), and Gravis Robotics (#20) illustrate the breadth of Switzerland’s robotics ecosystem.
AI is similarly evolving beyond general-purpose applications. Companies such as DeepJudge demonstrate how AI is increasingly being integrated into specialised industries and professional workflows.
4. A Strong Year for Western Switzerland
Geography is another interesting feature of the 2026 ranking.
Five of the Top 10 are based in Western Switzerland, including Corintis, PAVE Space, Voltiris, Seprify, and DPhi Space.
Zurich and the surrounding region are equally strongly represented through companies including DeepJudge, Flexion Robotics, BTRY, mimic robotics, and Tethys Robotics.
The result is a geographically distributed ecosystem connected by a common emphasis on research, engineering, and commercialisation.

Several newcomers achieved particularly strong positions in 2026, including:

PAVE Space’s #3 debut is particularly notable and demonstrates the momentum behind Switzerland’s emerging space sector.
6. The Bigger Picture
Since the Top 100 programme began in 2011, it has recognised 677 startups. Collectively, these companies have created more than 27,000 jobs, raised approximately CHF 19 billion, generated 111 exits, produced 11 IPOs, and created 11 unicorns.
The 2026 ranking therefore represents more than an annual list.
It provides a snapshot of Switzerland’s evolving technological strengths - and the picture is clear: deep tech is increasingly at the centre of Swiss entrepreneurship.
AI, robotics, biotechnology, climate technology, advanced materials, energy, and space are moving from specialist research areas into commercially ambitious businesses with global potential.
